This Season of Gratitude

It’s hard to believe that the holiday season is here again. It’s a beautiful, welcoming time of year.

It’s a time to reflect on past months, which may have included challenges but undoubtedly brought with them learning, growth, wisdom, and possibly a new perspective and appreciation for what is good in our lives and the people who enrich it with their presence. Looking at life with gratitude can truly make a difference in our outlook, expectations, relationships, and even our health.

This season is also a time when we look forward to another year in which we can apply what we’ve learned, build on what we’ve accomplished, change our mindset if we choose. This is a time for planning, and planting seeds of growth for the coming year.

As we reflect and look ahead, we’d like to acknowledge, with grateful hearts, those who are on this journey with us.

  • The Host Home Providers and Family Caregivers who work with Evergreen Service Providers open their hearts and homes to provide the respectful, loving environments that are the foundation of our residential program, through which we give IDD Individuals the settings and resources they need to thrive.
  • We cannot do what we do without our dedicated and compassionate staff, each member filling a role that is critical to our success.
  • And we are so thankful for the amazing Individuals we have the privilege to serve. Time and again they share wisdom – often unknowingly – that provides us with insights into the immeasurable value of each life, the needs and desires we all have in common, and what can be accomplished when a determined spirit is given wings to soar. We are frequently humbled and amazed at the life lessons we learn from those in our care. All of us at Evergreen Service Providers are especially grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of these very special Individuals.

Yes, it’s important to both reflect and look forward, but it’s easy to get caught up in a focus on the past or the future. Don’t let today get away. The time we have right now is one of our greatest gifts and this moment is what you have. Be mindful of the beauty that surrounds you, live in the moment, and experience fully what life has to offer today.

We encourage you to put yourself and your loved ones first this holiday season and realize the value of the time you have with them. May today’s blessings fill you with gratitude and hope.
