Families of 17-year-old students need to be aware of Medicaid waiver changes they’ll need to navigate when their child reaches 18. Along with those changes come new residential options for IDD adults.
In addition to programs like host homes and group homes, Colorado’s Family Caregiver program enables IDD adults to live at home with their families!
Eligible family members will complete the same training as Host Home Providers and receive compensation through Evergreen Service Providers for providing care for their loved one. It’s a win-win for all!
Evergreen Service Providers is a Program Approved Service Agency (PASA), which has provided residential services to IDD adults across Colorado’s Front Range for more than 30 years. With growing demand for the Family Caregiver program, we’d like to share with you our expertise and some in-depth information.
We offer free, periodic webinars to help families understand the options and decisions they’ll face during this transition period. The webinar provides an overview of the adult residential models for IDD individuals including Host Home, Group Home, Personal Care Alternative (PCA), Independent Living, and emphasizes the Family Caregiver Model, its growing popularity, and how families can get started.
